Decorative Ground Cover

Las Vegas Rock produces and sells decorative ground cover for most landscaping needs. The crushed Meta-Quartzite from our quarry is extremely durable and is available in size ranges from ¼” minus to an 8” minus (bank retention), with custom crushing available. Our stone compares favorable against most other types of decorative stone in coverage of an area (weight versus cubic yard). Las Vegas Rock also resells a large variety of other natural stone materials produced by other quarries. As with all landscaping materials it is suggested to use soil treatment when necessary underneath the application (please see UNLV letter).

Landscape Stone

Las Vegas Rock produces and sells decorative landscape boulders of various colors, shapes, and sizes. The material has the aesthetics of sandstone but durability of quartzite and has a very remarkable range of striated colors from the same deposit, truly Rainbow Quarries. From small stones in rock gardens to 20-30 ton boulders, blocks, slabs, and flats, our Meta-Quartzite boulders are a versatile material in landscaping. Boulders can be cut or split in half for unique landscaping design ideas; placing the flat side down gives the appearance of a whole boulder with less weight, flat side up can be used in a seating area keeping your project's natural characteristic.

Las Vegas Rock produces waterfall flats, sign flats, golf cart and footbridges from its dimensional stone. The stackable flats are ideal for waterfalls creating a beautiful water curtain. Stackable flats are also ideal for use as retaining wall accents.

Top Quality Soil and Infield Mix

Aquarius Soil is remarkable planting material that is the fine crushed form of our meta-quartzite stone (see mineral content report).

•  It retains approximately fifteen percent (15%) of available water

•  Provides an ideal median for adequate amounts of water and aeration to allow good root growth

•  Is low in total salt content and should not contribute to salt loading (flushes easily)

•  Good capillary rise properties (excess water transmits to drier areas)

•  Can serve as an acceptable soil amendment to improve water and air relations

•  It is especially valuable for use with subsurface drip irrigation systems
